When Scott Lamphere’s feet touches the African soil, his pursuit is single-minded. And he does not stop until he is ready to leave again. Very determined to bag what he came to hunt and then some more, he is always ready for the next adventure. That is how we have come to know Scott over the past 12 years that we have been privileged to have him hunt with us.
It was then no surprise when he shot in one hunt three of the most sought after African trophies.
A very happy Scott with the Sable antelope that he hunted.
Leon du Plessis, Scott and Geoffrey with the Cape Buffalo that Scott hunted.
A beautiful Roan antelope hunted by Scott.
It is difficult to choose between Sable and Roan antelope. Both these antelope species are majestic! And make for a great African hunt.
The Sable bulls with their shiny black coats and pure white belly and facial markings, which forms a stark contrast to the remainder of their bodies, are distinctive in color and combined with their exceptional horns make this antelope truly majestic. The Sable are one of the most priced plains game trophies to hunt in South Africa.
The Roan, with a body color of overall fawn with a strawberry tint and black and white patterned face, is truly a magnificent and regal antelope. Their distinctive black and white facial markings are characteristic features of this antelope. They have long pointed ears and both sexes have heavily ringed scimitar-shaped horns. Roan antelope are the second largest plains game animal that can be hunted in South Africa. Read more about the Roan antelope on our Blog: Roan Antelope: An elusive quarry
Hunting a Cape Buffalo in the African Bush or on the African Plains is the epitome of what hunting is to a hunter.
We look forward to welcome Scott back next month for a hunt. This time his pursuit will be to add to his list of the Tiny Ten.
