They communicate with loud grunts, whines, barks and hums.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #808080; font-size: 1em;\">Kudu normally restrict their movements to a small home range, but the scarcity of food in dry season may prompt them to roam more widely.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #888888;\">\u00a0Behaviour: \u00a0The hierarchy among kudu males is usually \u00a0determined by age and size. Males of about the same size \u00a0and age engage in sparring contests \u00a0in which they \u00a0approach one another slowly, lock horns and push back and \u00a0forth until one gives up. Usually no serious injuries result, \u00a0but remains of animals have been found where the two \u00a0combatants had locked horns in such a way that they could \u00a0not disengage. Dominance is usually quickly and peacefully \u00a0determined by a lateral display in which one male stands \u00a0sideways in front of the other and makes himself looks as \u00a0large as possible. If the other is suitably impressed, \u00a0dominance is established.
